Mandan Public School District has announced that the Morton Mandan Public Library will host a free Paint-a-Planter event. This initiative allows middle and high school students to design and decorate their own flower planters using provided supplies.

According to the Mandan Public Library, the event is scheduled for May 6, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the library located at 609 W Main St, Mandan, ND. It is open to tweens and teens aged 11-18. Participants will have access to all necessary materials, including planter containers, paint, soil, and flowers while supplies last.

Attendees are encouraged to join for the entire duration or drop in at any time during the event window. Registration is required, with an option to cancel if unable to attend. The library emphasizes that this event is entirely free.

The Morton Mandan Public Library in Mandan, North Dakota offers various resources such as books, digital materials, meeting rooms, and community programs. Following renovations in 2022, it now features updated facilities with dedicated areas for teens and children. Patrons can access digital resources like e-books and audiobooks and utilize online learning tools. The library's Bookmobile service distributes materials to 28 locations monthly. Programs include book clubs and craft activities among others. Additionally, it houses a seed library and a used bookstore named "A Novel Idea." Meeting rooms are available for public use supporting community activities.

Mandan Public School District aims to provide rigorous learning experiences while fostering social and emotional skills in students. The district's School Board consists of nine members who serve as its policy-making body during formally called meetings only. They set policies, approve budgets, establish goals, manage property, and connect the district with the public. Members include President Sheldon Wolf along with Rick Horn, Amy Schanandore, Marnie Piehl, Kama Hoovestol, Darren Haugen, Lori Furaus, Tom Peters, and Jake Schmidt. Dr. Mike Bitz serves as superintendent.
