Mandan Public School District has announced it will host the first open house at the new Mandan High School on Thursday, July 3.

According to the district, the upcoming open house invites alumni and community members to explore the facility at their own pace. Optional tours are available by contacting the school office before July 3. Visitors can purchase Mandan Braves merchandise at the on-site Braves Crossing School Store, and complimentary coffee and donuts will be offered by the Mandan Public Schools Foundation for Education while supplies last.

Founded in 2010, the Mandan Public Schools Foundation for Education is a nonprofit organization that supports students and staff within the district. The foundation is governed by a board comprising Mandan alumni, educators, and business leaders. It manages an endowment funded by contributions from alumni, local organizations, families, and education supporters. Donations are eligible for tax deductions per IRS guidelines.

Mandan High School is located at 2335 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND. The school is led by Principal Mark Andresen, with Assistant Principals Aaron Koenig and Alyssa Caya, and Activities Director Mark Weist. Admission requirements include completion of 8th grade with recommendations from previous schools. Transfer students must provide a satisfactory transcript and a North Dakota Department of Health Certificate of Immunization. New students need to present proof of identification through student records or a certified birth certificate.

The mission of Mandan Public School District is to provide students with rigorous and personalized learning experiences while helping them develop social and emotional skills for success. The Mandan School Board consists of nine members who serve as the policy-making body for the district during formally called meetings only. The Board sets policies, approves budgets, establishes goals, manages property, and links the district with the public. Members include President Sheldon Wolf along with Rick Horn, Amy Schanandore, Marnie Piehl, Kama Hoovestol, Darren Haugen, Lori Furaus, Tom Peters, and Jake Schmidt.
