Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) greeted 180 veterans from Western North Dakota at the U.S. Capitol, participating in the Western North Dakota Honor Flight. The veterans were escorted by Capitol Police from their hotel to the Capitol steps. There, they met with Fedorchak and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum before proceeding to tour the Capitol Rotunda and the House Chamber.
"North Dakota has a proud tradition of service, and these men and women embody the very best of who we are," Fedorchak expressed. "Welcoming our heroes from western North Dakota and bringing them to the House Floor—the heart of democracy—was one of the greatest privileges I’ve had in Congress. I hope this visit served as a small token of our deep gratitude and a reminder that we will never forget their service to our great nation."
On the House Floor, Fedorchak shared insights about her congressional work and priorities in Washington with the veterans. Capitol Historian Matthew Wasniewski also provided them with historical background on the House Chamber.
