Senator John Hoeven visited Fargo to review the progress of the Hector International Airport terminal expansion project. This visit follows a record-breaking month for the airport in March, with more than 56,000 boardings. For the past year, Hector International has consistently reported record-high passenger activity.

Senator Hoeven, who is on the Senate Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Committee, is advocating for federal funds to support the expansion. Almost $40 million has been secured, and he is working to obtain an additional $31 million. The terminal expansion, expected to complete in 2027, includes a parking garage with an elevated walkway scheduled to open later this year, four new boarding gates, renovations to five existing gates, and an extended apron for more air traffic and ground operations.

“The numbers make it clear – the Fargo-Moorhead region is growing fast and demand for air service continues to climb,” Hoeven stated. He emphasized the importance of securing federal funding alongside state and local contributions to ensure the project's success and support the region's economy and quality of life.
