Gov. Kelly Armstrong engaged in a discussion in Fargo with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins, expressing gratitude for the Trump administration's attention to farmers and ranchers. Armstrong praised Rollins' engagement with stakeholders, stating, "North Dakota farmers and ranchers are the best in the world, and we appreciate Secretary Rollins coming to Fargo to hear firsthand about the challenges and opportunities facing our ag producers as they feed and fuel the world."

Armstrong highlighted the collaboration with the Trump administration as beneficial to the state's agriculture sector. He added, "We look forward to working with Secretary Rollins and the entire Trump administration to strengthen U.S. food security, expand markets and restore fairness to international trade relationships, and roll back unnecessary regulations that restrict producers and increase costs for consumers."

Rollins' Fargo visit occurred shortly after her confirmation as the 33rd Secretary of Agriculture. At the Peltier Complex at North Dakota State University, she met with ag producers and researchers, agribusinesses, and commodity groups. During the roundtable, Rollins declared the release of over $340 million in disaster assistance by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to aid farmers, ranchers, and rural communities, including over $5 million earmarked for North Dakota for rebuilding electric infrastructure damaged by severe storms and wildfires.

Rollins attended the event hosted in Fargo by U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee.
