The Cass County Commission confirmed Matthew Stanger as the new Tax Equalization Director at a meeting in March. Stanger, who has been with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a County Executive Director since 2017, has been serving Cass County in this capacity since 2022. His new role begins on Monday, April 21.
The appointment followed the recommendation of a panel tasked with interviewing finalists. The panel included Commissioner Tony Grindberg, Commissioner Jim Kapitan, County Administrator Robert Wilson, and Assistant Administrator Tracy Peters.
