Senator John Hoeven will host Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins in North Dakota on April 22, according to an announcement made today. The visit aims to gather direct feedback from the state’s agriculture producers and to provide Rollins with insights into North Dakota’s advancements in precision agriculture technologies.
Hoeven, who chairs the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and is a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, extended the invitation to Rollins during her confirmation earlier this year. The meeting with local commodity groups and producers is scheduled to take place at North Dakota State University (NDSU) and will include an agriculture technology demonstration at Grand Farm. Further details about the event's timing and locations will be provided in the coming days.
Senator Hoeven remarked, "Our farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses have built North Dakota into a world leader in production agriculture. Their feedback will be invaluable to Secretary Rollins as she works with us to keep the farm in the farm bill." He added that the visit presents "a tremendous opportunity to showcase the partnerships we’ve worked to craft between Grand Farm, NDSU and others and secure key support for strengthening such initiatives."
