The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is undertaking a study aimed at identifying and categorizing safety countermeasures to guide future transportation project selections and implementation. The study will utilize the U.S. Department of Transportation's Safe System Approach in pursuit of the Vision Zero goal to eliminate or reduce severe injuries and fatalities caused by transportation-related incidents. The study will involve collaboration with the City of Bismarck, City of Mandan, City of Lincoln, Burleigh County, and Morton County.

To gather public input on the Safety Policy Study, the MPO invites the community to participate in the upcoming Touch-a-Truck Event on Main Street, Mandan. Admission to the event is free. Alternatively, individuals can submit their feedback in writing by May 31, 2025, addressed to Luke Champa at SRF Consulting Group, located at 2370 Vermont Avenue, Bismarck, ND 58504, or via the project website.

The MPO ensures that the event facility is accessible for people with disabilities and offers accommodations. Additionally, language interpretation services will be available for those with limited English proficiency, along with translated written materials to facilitate access to Bismarck-Mandan MPO programs and information.
