Temporary shoulder closures on I-94 and I-29 in Fargo will commence on Monday, April 14, as crews undertake an upgrade of the fiber optic infrastructure along these highways. The work will take place on I-94 from the Red River to Exit 342 and on I-29 from south of 64th Avenue South to north of Exit 69/County Road 20/40th Avenue North.
The scope of the project involves updating and replacing the fiber optic network and installing new poles, towers, cameras, and cabinets. Some daytime lane closures might be necessary during the work. It is anticipated that the project will be completed by early November.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) advises motorists to exercise caution and to slow down when traveling through the work zones. "NDDOT would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout the work zone."
