Senator John Hoeven cast his vote today in support of confirming Major General J. Daniel Caine as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This decision came as part of a bipartisan effort in the Senate.
Reflecting on the confirmation, Senator Hoeven expressed his approval of General Caine's appointment. "General Caine has a long record of serving our nation, with more than two decades of experience as a member of the Air National Guard, including time as an F-16 pilot and important assignments related to intelligence and special operations. Given his prior combat and leadership experience, he is a strong choice to serve as chairman."
Hoeven noted the importance General Caine places on advancing technological innovations for strategic military advantage, a stance that he finds commendable. "Importantly, during his confirmation process, he emphasized the importance of developing and deploying new technologies to extend our nation’s strategic advantage. This aligns closely with our efforts to modernize the dual-nuclear mission in Minot and maintain an effective nuclear deterrent, as well as advance the unmanned, space and hypersonic missile testing operations in the Red River Valley," he stated.
Senator Hoeven concluded with a statement of cooperation, saying, "I look forward to working with him to advance these key defense priorities."
