The Bismarck Fire Department has issued a reminder to residents regarding additional burn restrictions in the city due to elevated fire danger conditions. These restrictions are influenced by the fire danger index, which is currently at a "Very High" or "Extreme" level, and a Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service. The warning, applicable to the Bismarck area, cites high winds and low relative humidity and is in effect until 9 PM today.

Under these conditions, all recreational burning is prohibited. This includes the use of outdoor fire pits, fireplaces, portable outdoor fireplaces, and chimineas. Additionally, outdoor cooking devices that use solid fuels, such as wood, charcoal briquettes, and pellets, are also restricted. These fuels have the potential to produce sparks that could ignite a fire. Gas grills remain permissible for use, but residents are advised to keep the grill lid closed, remain present during use, and have fire extinguishing capabilities nearby if needed.

For more information on burn restrictions in Bismarck, residents can visit the Bismarck Fire Department's website and select "Burn Restrictions."
