Gov. Kelly Armstrong has announced an extension to the application deadline for North Dakota's Governor's Band/Orchestra Program and Choral Program. The new deadline for applications is April 14. This extension applies to school, community, and church bands, orchestras, and choirs interested in serving as the Official State Band/Orchestra and Choral Program for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Governor and First Lady will select the two groups based on criteria such as musical talent, achievement, and community involvement. Selected groups may be invited to perform at official state functions throughout the year, including the State of the State Address.

Groups interested in applying should submit an application, references, and a musical recording to the Governor’s Office by 5 p.m. on April 14. The Governor's Band/Orchestra Program and Choral Program will be announced in April, with possible performances at the Capitol in May 2025 and other events through the 2025-2026 school year. Applications can be completed by visiting https://www.governor.nd.gov/governors-chorus-and-bandorchestra-program-application.
