Businesses, civic organizations, and youth groups are being encouraged to participate in a community-wide litter clean-up throughout May. The City of Mandan, alongside Keep North Dakota Clean, will make available supplies and provide guidance on routes for the clean-up efforts. Participation during May also offers volunteers the possibility of winning prizes.
The initiative, now in its 12th year, continues to concentrate on cleaning the ditches along major routes in Mandan.
For those interested, additional information including available routes and sign-up details can be found at cityofmandan.com/littercleanup. Communications Specialist Kari Schmidt can be contacted at 701-667-3478 or by email for any questions.
Residents are also encouraged to engage in everyday clean-up activities as temperature rises. While walking, citizens are urged to pick up litter, ensuring trash is bagged and sharp objects are avoided. Large items, like animal carcasses or discarded tires, should be reported to the Public Works Department at 701-667-3240 or via publicworks@cityofmandan.com.
