The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a fire at an unoccupied single-family house in the central part of town on Monday. The incident occurred in the 400 block of North Griffin Street.

The call about the fire came in at approximately 10:04 PM on March 31, 2025. Fire department crews quickly arrived at the location by 10:07 PM. Upon arrival, they noticed smoke emitting from the front door and windows of the residence.

Firefighters, equipped with a charged hose line, entered through the front door. Inside, they encountered heavy smoke conditions at the main level. The source of the fire was found in the basement, prompting the deployment of a second hose line there to extinguish it. Additional teams searched the entire house, ensuring it was indeed unoccupied.

Once the fire was put out, an overhaul operation was carried out to identify and extinguish any remaining smoldering materials. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries to any firefighters involved.
