The City of Bismarck has announced that the public entrance to its Public Works building will be temporarily relocated on Friday, March 28. Traditionally, the entrance is through the southwest corner of the building at 601 South 26th Street. However, during this temporary change, customers should use the northwest door, previously used during building renovations.
The Public Works building houses various divisions essential to Bismarck's infrastructure and civic services. These include Service Operations, which handles city building maintenance, fleet services, forestry, solid waste, and street department duties. It is also responsible for street light and traffic signal maintenance.
Additionally, Utility Operations is an integral part of the Public Works setup, managing functions such as utility billing, water treatment, water distribution, the industrial pretreatment program, wastewater treatment, sanitary sewer, and the stormwater program.
