Dirk Wilke Health and Human Services Interim Commissioner | North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services
North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) has concluded its five-year needs assessment to determine new priorities for the maternal and child health population. The Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant, a federal-state partnership, funds preventive and primary care services for women and children. The newly identified activities will commence on October 1, 2025, and continue until September 30, 2030.
HHS is seeking public input on these draft priorities until April 4. The priorities focus on addressing barriers to postpartum care for women, promoting infant safe sleep practices through statewide resources, expanding partnerships with community resources to enhance access to healthy food options, improving care coordination for pediatric populations, reducing barriers to mental health treatment for adolescents, and enhancing the system of care for children with special health needs.
