Senator John Hoeven has commented on a recent legal decision involving the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). A North Dakota jury ruled in favor of Energy Transfer, the company behind DAPL, in its lawsuit against Greenpeace. The case centered on Greenpeace's involvement in protests against the pipeline.
Senator Hoeven stated, "The Dakota Access Pipeline was built with the latest, greatest technology and safety features, and the company went through all of the required regulatory and permitting steps. These facts are reaffirmed by today’s decision in court."
He emphasized the importance of DAPL to both North Dakota's position as an energy leader and to national energy security. "This pipeline is important not only to North Dakota’s success as a global energy powerhouse, but our nation’s energy security," Hoeven added.
Hoeven also expressed his commitment to providing regulatory certainty for energy projects across the United States. He noted that efforts will continue to support energy producers and enhance U.S. energy dominance: "We will continue working to provide regulatory certainty for this and energy projects across the country, taking the handcuffs off our energy producers to make the U.S. truly energy dominant."
