Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced that the North Dakota Department of Agriculture is offering funding for teachers in grades 2-3 to use edamame trail mix kits in their curriculum. This initiative is part of the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program.
"The North Dakota Department of Agriculture is seeking teachers interested in bringing this STEM learning opportunity into their classrooms," stated Goehring. "April is National Soy Foods Month, and students will learn about soybeans and other North Dakota specialty crops, and their importance in agriculture in North Dakota."
Teachers interested in obtaining these kits can visit https://www.ndda.nd.gov/trailmixkits for more information and to submit an application. The deadline for electronic applications is Friday, March 28, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by March 31, 2025, with kits distributed by early April.
