A selection committee has chosen finalists for Mandan's fourth annual photo contest. The event attracted 60 entries from 21 photographers, with judges now evaluating the top photos to determine winners in five categories: achievement, community, fun, opportunity, and county.

This year introduced a new "best in show" category. Judges will select a photo from the finalists that best embodies the contest's spirit.

The public can participate by voting for their favorite image to win the People's Choice Award at surveymonkey.com/r/PeoplesChoicePhoto. Voting closes at 11:45 p.m. CST on March 28. Finalist photos are also available on "Made in Mandan" social media pages.

Judging criteria include relevance to community marketing, originality, subject matter interest, visual appeal, and alignment with category themes.

Rena Mehlhoff, Layn Mudder, and Mandan Progress Organization Executive Director Matt Schanandore served as selection committee members. Winners will be announced in early April.

Finalists include Kayla Weiss, Paulette Bullinger, Alex Bush, Cindy Levi, Kristie Stroh, Ben Buchmiller, Amy Bohl, Andrew Kjonaas, Jamie Wetsch, and Jacey Wanner.

Each category winner will receive $100 in Mandan Bucks gift certificates sponsored by local businesses. Although LPT Images sponsored the youth category this year, no youth entries were submitted.

The contest is organized by the Mandan Progress Organization and City of Mandan Business Development and Communications Department. More information is available at visitmandan.com/photo-contest.
