The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a house fire on the south side of town on Monday evening. The incident occurred at a single-family residence in the 3800 block of Poseidon Loop.

At approximately 9:37 PM on March 17, 2025, the department received an alert about a structure fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene by 9:46 PM and observed smoke emanating from the front door and eaves of the house. They entered through the front door with charged hose lines and encountered heavy smoke conditions on the main level.

Fire crews identified and extinguished a fire in the kitchen area that involved the stove and cabinets. Additional teams searched the premises to ensure all occupants were evacuated safely. During this search, two pets were located and removed from the house.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among either residents or firefighters. The damage was confined to the room where the fire started, though smoke affected other parts of the home.

A subsequent investigation determined that cooking activities accidentally caused the fire.
