President Donald Trump has signed into law a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution led by Senator John Hoeven to block the implementation of President Biden's Natural Gas Tax. The legislation, passed in 2022 as part of a broader tax and spending bill, faced opposition from Republicans who argued it imposed unnecessary regulations on the energy industry.

Senator Hoeven, who was present at the White House for the signing, emphasized that the CRA aims to reverse what he described as burdensome taxes and regulations on natural gas. "The Biden administration handcuffed our energy industry with unnecessary regulations and burdensome taxes, including a new tax on natural gas," said Hoeven. He further stated that blocking this tax is crucial for rolling back policies associated with the Green New Deal.

The Senate approved Hoeven's resolution last month with a vote of 52 to 47. In parallel, Congressman August Pfluger led similar efforts in the House to secure approval for companion legislation. Pfluger expressed his support for removing regulatory constraints on American energy production: "I was honored to witness President Trump sign our monumental legislation into law... Our CRA repeals the tax President Biden imposed on every single consumer in this country."

Both legislators highlighted their commitment to restoring American energy dominance and reducing inflation through increased domestic energy production. They credited President Trump's action as an essential step toward achieving these goals.
