Dickinson State announces five finalists for university president

Dickinson State University is in the process of selecting its next president, with five finalists announced. Each candidate brings a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and community engagement. The university community will have the chance to meet these candidates during their campus visits.

Jeff D. Borden is currently the Dean for the School of Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University. He has extensive experience in program development and instructional design. Dr. Borden emphasizes his commitment to learning efficacy and believes he can implement practical strategies at DSU.

Scott Molander, an alumnus of Dickinson State University, serves on the faculty team at Butler University and co-founded Lids Sports Group. His focus is on innovative entrepreneurship and personalized education as priorities for DSU's future.

Carmen M. Simone has held various roles in higher education administration, including her current position as Dean for Dakota College at Bottineau. Dr. Simone stresses the importance of understanding DSU’s history and traditions while embracing its role in the region.

James Y. Taylor oversees a statewide campus system as Vice President for Utah State University. With experience as an Associate Professor and executive roles in online healthcare education, Dr. Taylor values teamwork and community engagement.

Jodi E. Washington works as Executive Director of Student Services Initiatives for Broward County Public Schools in Florida. She focuses on eliminating academic barriers and believes that engaging alumni and community leaders will drive DSU's growth.
