Emma Heller has been named the September Kid of the Month at Gackle-Streeter Public School. The nomination came from her teacher, Tina Nitschke, who described Emma as a "kind, respectful, and spirited young leader, who shines in everything she does." Nitschke also stated, "Emma is a natural leader—outgoing, helpful, and always willing to lend a hand to others. She sets high but attainable goals for herself and works hard to reach them, all while supporting others in doing the same."
Emma participates in several school activities including student council, band where she plays piano and oboe, choir, basketball, volleyball, and archery. She is also active in church groups and other community organizations outside of school.
Recently, Emma led an initiative at her school by organizing her classmates to create posters and announcements aimed at building school spirit. She made sure every student had a role in the project and focused on including quieter classmates. Afterward, she celebrated everyone's contribution to the effort. According to those involved, this activity helped promote teamwork and pride among students at Gackle-Streeter Public School.
