Construction on Memorial Highway in Mandan, North Dakota, is set to commence around April 1. Preparations for the project are already underway.
During the construction period, traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction with a center turn lane. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph, and an 11-foot width restriction will be enforced.
The 2025 construction season involves reconstructing Memorial Highway from approximately 32nd Avenue Southeast to 46th Avenue Southeast. The project includes replacing the old pavement with a new concrete surface roadway featuring curb and gutter improvements, better drainage systems, underground utilities installation, and a multi-use pathway for pedestrians and cyclists.
Further enhancements include upgraded traffic signals and lighting, improved access to businesses, and drainage improvements. The east half of Memorial Highway is expected to be completed by mid-November, while the shared-use path on the east side is scheduled for completion in 2026.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation advises motorists to slow down, adhere to posted signs, and exercise caution throughout the construction zone.
