A two-vehicle crash occurred near Northwood, North Dakota, on March 6, 2025, at the intersection of 34th Street NE and 1st Street NE. The incident took place around 7:38 AM CST under clear weather conditions with good road conditions.
The crash involved a right-angle collision between a 1999 Ford F350 and a 2004 Ford F150. The driver of the F350, a 31-year-old male from Hatton, ND, was injured in the accident. He was not wearing a seatbelt, though the airbags deployed. The driver of the F150, a 53-year-old male from Northwood, ND, was also injured and transported to Northwood Deaconess Hospital by ambulance. He was not wearing a seatbelt and his vehicle's airbags did not deploy.
According to the narrative provided by authorities, the F150 was traveling southbound on 34th Street NE (Grand Forks County Road 12), while the F350 was heading westbound on 1st Avenue NE. The driver of the F350 reportedly disregarded a stop sign and collided with the F150. Both vehicles ended up in the southwest ditch after striking an electrical power pole.
The crash led to a temporary closure of 34th Street NE due to a downed electrical line crossing the road. Nodak Electric Cooperative is currently working to remove the line from the ditch and restore power.
Agencies involved in responding to this incident include the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office, Northwood Fire Department, and Northwood Deaconess Ambulance Service. The investigation into this crash is ongoing by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
