Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) emphasized the potential benefits of the House Budget Resolution for Americans, particularly North Dakotans. The budget aims to support President Trump's America First policy agenda by enhancing border security, boosting American energy production, offering tax relief, and reducing unnecessary spending.

In her op-ed, Fedorchak compared the national debt to personal financial irresponsibility, stating that the federal government is accumulating debt that future generations will have to address. She argued that excessive federal spending is hindering economic growth and success.

"As your representative, I voted for the House Budget Resolution last week to begin changing course," she stated. Fedorchak criticized opponents of the budget for using "scare tactics and misinformation" and described the vote as a step towards advancing President Trump's fiscal policies.

Fedorchak highlighted Medicaid reforms as a crucial component of restoring fiscal responsibility. She pointed out that under President Biden's administration, Medicaid spending increased significantly, threatening its sustainability. Republicans aim to implement reforms such as verifying eligibility and requiring able-bodied adults with low incomes to work or volunteer 20 hours a week.

Despite proposed savings in Medicaid, Fedorchak noted that spending would still rise by $1.5 trillion over ten years. She also addressed tax reform concerns, arguing against Democratic proposals for increased taxes on American workers.

"Our plan seeks to make life more affordable, secure, and prosperous for all Americans," she concluded. "It’s time to move forward."
