The North Dakota Department of Commerce has allocated $522,432 to two organizations under the Regional Workforce Impact Program (RWIP). This funding initiative aims to support regional workforce entities in creating solutions for pressing workforce challenges.
Commerce Workforce Director Katie Ralston Howe emphasized the program's goals, stating, "We're investing in North Dakota's future through the Regional Workforce Impact Program. By expanding childcare options and strengthening workforce recruitment, we're proactively tackling challenges and ensuring our communities thrive and compete effectively."
In this funding round, Reser LLC was awarded $22,433 to renovate and expand The Learning Tree childcare facility in Minot. This expansion will add 20 new childcare slots. Meanwhile, Dickinson Public School District #1 received $500,000 to build a childcare center with a capacity for up to 30 children. This facility will also provide experience-based learning opportunities for high school students studying early childhood education.
The application period for the next round of RWIP funding is open from February 25 to March 25, 2025. Interested applicants can find more information and apply at https://ndgov.link/RWIP.
