Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota recently addressed the state's House and Senate, focusing on economic growth through fiscal responsibility, energy security, and regulatory reform. She emphasized North Dakota's potential role in powering the AI revolution due to its abundant energy resources.

“AI requires vast computing power, which means it requires abundant, reliable, and affordable energy. North Dakota should lead these efforts," Fedorchak stated. "We have more gas in the Bakken than we can use. Let’s turn it into electricity, power AI computing at sites near the gas source, and make more room in our pipelines for additional gas production. This will grow our production, solve our gas challenge, create a new industry, and help America lead in AI. I’m leading a working group in the House to focus on the energy needs of AI.”

She praised figures such as Doug Burgum and Kristi Noem for their leadership roles within national governance: “Dakota common sense is in high demand. The Dakotas are home to two Cabinet secretaries, two nominated assistant secretaries, and the Senate Majority leader,” she said.

Fedorchak expressed concerns about federal inefficiency and debt while advocating for modernizing government operations: "Our federal government is bloated, inefficient, and wasteful... $36 Trillion in debt."

Highlighting the importance of domestic energy policy for national security and technological advancement was another key theme: "Energy security is national security... If we want to outpace China... we need energy policy that ensures American innovation is fueled at home."

The Congresswoman also stressed pro-growth tax policies: “Rather than raising taxes... Minimize burdens on businesses so they create more jobs.” She advocated extending provisions from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

Fedorchak concluded by commending North Dakota's approach to governance as a model for national improvement: “North Dakotans don’t wait for Washington to fix our problems—we lead.” Her commitment remains firm towards enhancing both state-level success and contributing positively at a national level.
