Dickinson State University (DSU) has reported its official enrollment figures for the spring 2025 semester, revealing an increase in student numbers. The total enrollment stands at 1,410 students, marking a rise from 1,373 in spring 2024, which is a growth of 2.69%.

Ty Orton, Acting President of DSU, commented on the positive trend: "We are excited to witness this growth in both our full-time enrollment and overall enrollment numbers." He emphasized that this achievement aligns with DSU's mission to provide diverse academic opportunities and support students in reaching their educational goals.

The university saw a modest increase in full-time enrollment by 1.31%, with the number rising to 853 students from 842 last year. Additionally, full-time enrollment based on total credit hours increased by 3.86%, moving from 1045.57 to 1085.96.

There was a slight decrease in transfer student enrollment, with numbers dropping from 50 to 47. In contrast, graduate student enrollment rose significantly from eight students to twelve. First-year student numbers also grew substantially from thirteen to thirty-two, demonstrating DSU's efforts in recruitment and support through innovative academic programs.

Early entry enrollment headcount increased by 3.56%, climbing from 273 to 283 students. This early growth suggests DSU’s ability to attract and retain students effectively.

Holly Gruhlke, Vice President of Academic Affairs/Provost at DSU, expressed optimism about the results: “We are encouraged by the results, and we view this as an opportunity to learn and further enhance our efforts.” She reiterated the university's commitment to providing accessible quality education and noted strong interest in many programs.

As the semester progresses, Dickinson State University aims to maintain its growth trajectory while continuing to promote its distinctive programs.
