North Dakota reopens LIFT program with $1.75 million in loans

The North Dakota Department of Commerce has announced the reopening of the application process for the Legacy Investment for Technology (LIFT) program. This initiative aims to boost economic growth in North Dakota by supporting innovative businesses within the state.

"The LIFT funds equip North Dakota businesses commercializing intellectual property with debt financing at advantageous interest rates," stated Shayden Akason, Deputy Director of Commerce Economic Development & Finance. "We're excited to open the fund to new innovative projects."

Industries eligible for this funding include advanced computing and data management, agricultural technology, autonomous and uncrewed vehicles, energy, healthcare, value-added agriculture, value-added energy, and any other area recognized by the LIFT Committee as contributing to the state's economic diversification.

Applications will be accepted until March 14, 2025. The program offers a total of $1.75 million in loan funding for successful applicants.
