Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) recently concluded her first state work period, engaging with North Dakotans on various issues. During her visit, she met with law enforcement officials, mayors, healthcare providers, and energy leaders to discuss their concerns.
At the Energy Progress & Innovation Conference (EPIC), Rep. Fedorchak emphasized North Dakota's role in energy innovation and stressed the need for a reliable and affordable energy grid.
In Washburn, discussions with the Mayor focused on economic development, energy infrastructure, childcare expansion, and affordable housing. Fedorchak also toured Coal Creek Station and Rainbow Energy Park. The visit included talks on federal regulations, data centers' roles, cryptocurrency impact, grid reliability, and an all-encompassing energy strategy.
The Lignite Energy Council hosted a roundtable where federal energy regulations and grid security were discussed alongside opportunities for North Dakota's lignite industry.
In Morton County, law enforcement officials addressed staffing needs and coordination improvements between federal and local agencies. Kelly Leben from Burleigh County Sheriff's office praised ICE's recent actions in Bismarck as beneficial for community safety.
Mandan Mayor James Froelich and City Administrator Jim Neubauer highlighted funding requirements for infrastructure projects like a new water treatment plant and fire station. Discussions also covered Mandan's growth support through federal resources.
Lastly, Congresswoman Fedorchak held a statewide roundtable with over 30 long-term care community members to address workforce challenges, quality care access, funding needs, and regulatory issues.
