Senator John Hoeven and Congressman August Pfluger have reintroduced a resolution to block the Biden administration's Natural Gas Tax. This tax was implemented as part of the Inflation Reduction Act, which passed in 2022. The resolution, known as a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution of disapproval, seeks to prevent this tax from taking effect.

Senator Hoeven stated, "When it comes to bringing down prices and making America energy secure again, we have our work cut out for us." He criticized the Biden-Harris administration's policies for increasing production costs and limiting energy resource utilization. Hoeven emphasized that efforts like this CRA resolution aim to provide regulatory and tax relief for American energy producers and consumers.

Congressman Pfluger echoed these sentiments, highlighting the impact on energy producers in his district. "Biden’s burdensome natural gas tax has handicapped technological innovation," he said. With President Trump back in office, Pfluger believes it's time to restore American energy dominance by rescinding the natural gas tax.

The legislation is part of broader efforts by Hoeven and the new Congress with the Trump administration to enhance America's energy potential. Their goals include improving access to taxpayer-owned resources, streamlining approval processes for energy development, reducing production costs, fighting inflation, and lowering consumer prices.

The bill is supported by several senators including Shelley Moore Capito, Mike Lee, James Lankford, Katie Britt, Steve Daines, Roger Marshall, Kevin Cramer, Cynthia Lummis, James Risch, Rick Scott, Ted Cruz among others.
