The United States Senate has confirmed Doug Collins as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The confirmation was achieved with a vote tally of 77 in favor and 23 against.

Senator Kevin Cramer, a Republican from North Dakota, played a significant role in supporting Collins' nomination. Cramer, who worked alongside Collins for six years in the House of Representatives, introduced him at the confirmation hearing. He also praised the bipartisan support that Collins received from the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Cramer expressed his confidence in Collins' capabilities by stating, “Doug puts our veterans first and fights for their access to timely and quality local healthcare.” He further emphasized Collins' dedication to law and leadership, saying, “His commitment to the law and servant leadership is exactly what the Department of Veterans Affairs needs to stay on mission. I look forward to working with Doug in his new position.”

Collins' appointment comes with expectations of improving services for veterans across the nation.
