The University of Mary and Sanford Health are joining forces to host a Health Careers Fair aimed at inspiring future health care professionals. The event will take place on January 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Mary campus in Bismarck, North Dakota. It is expected to attract over 160 high school students from the area.
The fair will introduce students to various health care fields, such as speech-language pathology, athletic training, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, nursing, physical therapy, radiology technology, and respiratory therapy. Participants will rotate between interactive booths and demonstrations led by experts from the University of Mary and Sanford Health.
Linae Enockson from Sanford Health's Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) Center expressed pride in collaborating with the university: “Sanford Health is proud to collaborate with the University of Mary to inspire young people to explore health care careers.” Enockson highlighted that the event offers students an opportunity to interact with professionals and learn about making a difference in patient lives.
Dr. Mary Dockter, dean of the Saint Gianna School of Health Sciences at the University of Mary, emphasized their commitment: “At the University of Mary, we are committed to forming compassionate, skilled health care professionals who are prepared to meet the growing needs of our communities.”
This collaboration is part of ongoing efforts by both institutions to address workforce needs in health care within the region.
