The University of Mary's Gary Tharaldson School of Business has received reaccreditation for its specialized business programs from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). This decision, effective from January 2025 to December 31, 2031, was made at the IACBE Board of Commissioners' meeting on December 3, 2024.

The accreditation covers all undergraduate and master's programs at the school. The Doctor of Business Administration program will be considered for accreditation after its first cohort graduates in the spring.

The IACBE's evaluation process assesses adherence to principles such as quality assessment and strategic planning. Dr. Karel Sovak, dean of the Gary Tharaldson School of Business, attributed this achievement to faculty dedication and the university's mission. "This is a credit to the quality of our faculty and their adherence to the mission of the University of Mary," said Sovak.

Sovak highlighted that faculty collaboration plays a crucial role in ensuring student success. "We measure our success by the success of our students and take pride in how well they thrive in the workforce," he noted.

The school offers various hands-on learning opportunities like the Emerging Leaders Academy, Investment Club, Student-Run Bank, YES Competition, and DECA. These initiatives aim to provide practical experience and enhance students' skills.

The University of Mary's Master of Business Administration program integrates professional preparation with personal formation, emphasizing ethical decision-making rooted in Christian values. The program offers flexibility for working adults and potential scholarships for eligible candidates.

With this reaffirmation from IACBE, the Gary Tharaldson School of Business strengthens its standing as a leader in business education in North Dakota.
