U.S. Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) has collaborated with Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) to address concerns about non-citizens registering and voting in U.S. elections. They sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Department of Justice regarding a lack of prevention efforts to stop illegal aliens from participating in American elections or prosecuting those who do.

"We are deeply concerned by reports of non-citizens registering to vote and voting in federal elections," the letter read. "Given that the 2024 Presidential Election is in less than 34 days, your Department’s inaction and refusal to provide any information regarding its efforts to promote public trust and confidence in our elections is especially alarming."

The letter also highlighted the lack of response from the DOJ regarding a previous inquiry made on July 12, and reiterated the request for information from the department.

The letter was also signed by several other senators: Tommy Tuberville, Marsha Blackburn, Roger Marshall, Thom Tillis, Rick Scott, James Lankford, Jim Risch, Ron Johnson, Kevin Cramer, Mike Crapo, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Josh Hawley, Steve Daines, Cynthia Lummis, Tim Scott, Marco Rubio, John Thune, Shelley Moore Capito, Ted Cruz, Eric Schmitt, John Barrasso, Pete Ricketts, Katie Britt, Deb Fischer, Mike Rounds, Mike Braun, Ted Budd, Joni Ernst and more.
