The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration (EDA) has announced an award of $3.9 million to the Northern Plains Heritage Foundation in Bismarck, North Dakota. This funding is designated for infrastructure improvements aimed at developing Bismarck Riverfront Park and Festival Grounds, with the goal of attracting tourism and bolstering the local economy.

The $3.9 million federal award will be supplemented by $1.1 million in local funds. According to estimates provided by the grantee, this investment is expected to create 211 jobs and generate $80 million in private investment.

“North Dakota’s capital city is a beautiful city, and the Missouri River is a spectacular historical and recreational resource for our state,” said U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND). “These funds will improve the infrastructure so more people can have access to it and enjoy it.”
