The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced the award of $1,532,700 to the Lakota Airport Authority through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP). This funding is designated for the final phase of a project aimed at rehabilitating 3,500 feet of existing paved Runway 15/33. The objective is to maintain structural integrity and minimize foreign object debris, thereby extending the runway's useful life.

Senator Cramer commented on the allocation: "This investment in our rural airports is critical for ensuring safe and efficient transportation infrastructure in North Dakota."

The rehabilitation project is expected to bolster aviation safety and operational efficiency at Lakota Airport, aligning with broader efforts to enhance regional connectivity.
