In a recent announcement, it was revealed that the FAA has allocated $100,000 to the Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority for essential infrastructure upgrades. This funding will specifically aid in the reconstruction of the airport lighting vault, addressing its current state of disrepair.

The Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) Program, under which this funding falls, is designed to support airports in their modernization and safety endeavors. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which came into effect in 2021, paved the way for initiatives like the AIG program to assist airports across the country.

This grant signifies a significant investment in the enhancement of aviation facilities, ensuring that airports like Barnes County Municipal Airport can continue to operate efficiently and safely for the benefit of the community and travelers alike.
