BNSF Railway and contractors have begun work within the project area on both the east and west sides of the BNSF bridge over the Missouri River. Large equipment is clearing trees and removing dirt, among other activities, so BNSF is advising the public to stay away from the construction sites and recreate in other areas. Fencing will be installed to keep people safe and away from the heavy equipment working in the area. As noted in the public environmental impact statement for the bridge project, official and unofficial trails will be inaccessible at times. BNSF understands as the weather warms up people are eager to be outside along the river, but for safety, please avoid the project area and heed the signs and fencing.
