The Mandan Public Works Department will conduct snow equipment training and trial runs from November 12 to 14 as part of its annual winter readiness program. The sessions are intended to prepare both experienced and new operators for the upcoming snow season.
During these days, residents may observe plows and other snow equipment operating across the city. Crews will be completing route familiarization, calibration, and equipment checks in preparation for winter weather.
The department noted that even if there is only a small amount of snowfall during this period, there may be more machinery on the roads than usual. This is designed to provide hands-on experience for newer team members who are facing their first snow season, ensuring that Mandan’s response to major snow events remains efficient and safe.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as our crews gear up for the winter season, because, as they say, practice makes perfect,” stated the Public Works Department.
