Century Avenue, located east of Roosevelt Drive, is set to reopen to traffic on the evening of Wednesday, October 29, 2025. Although vehicles will be able to use the road again, the outside lanes in both directions will remain closed for several more weeks as construction crews complete remaining tasks such as grass seeding.
The project has included several upgrades. The roadway was expanded from a two-lane asphalt road to a five-lane concrete road. Additional features added during the project include curb and gutter installations, a 10-foot-wide bike trail along the north side of Century Avenue, and a standard sidewalk on the south side. Lighting improvements were made with new light poles installed. Pedestrian safety enhancements were also part of the project, including crosswalks with median refuge islands at Greensboro Drive and Roosevelt Drive.
