The City of Bismarck has announced a complimentary leaf collection service for residents during the weeks of October 20-23 and October 27-30. According to city officials, leaves will be collected on each resident's regularly scheduled garbage day.
Residents are instructed to place their leaves in garbage containers no larger than 32 gallons or in compostable paper bags. These should be set out at the usual collection point by 6:00 am on the designated day. The city will use a separate truck to collect and compost the leaves.
Officials emphasized that leaves placed in plastic bags will not be picked up as part of this service.
This initiative is part of Bismarck’s ongoing efforts to manage yard waste responsibly and encourage composting practices among its citizens.
