Knife River Corporation has provided an update on the East Century Avenue construction project, reporting significant progress in recent weeks. According to the company, 52nd Avenue is now fully paved with asphalt and connects to the new intersection at Century Avenue. Major concrete paving work took place last Saturday, with another session completed on Thursday and additional paving planned for this coming Saturday.
The section of roadway east of Roosevelt Drive is nearing completion, with approximately 80% finished. Only a final layer of pavement and minor work to connect side streets remain before this segment is done.
After the main paving is complete, crews will begin constructing a new sidewalk and shared-use path designed to improve accessibility and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
Despite some delays caused by weather conditions, Knife River Corporation stated that the project remains on schedule. The anticipated completion date continues to align closely with the original plan.
Andrew Osborn, Public Relations Coordinator for Knife River Corporation, addressed residents and travelers: "We truly value your patience and cooperation throughout this project. Your understanding has played a key role in keeping the project on track. As we move closer to completion, we’re excited about the long-term benefits these improvements will bring—enhanced safety, smoother travel, and better connectivity for everyone in our community."
