The City of Mandan has opened public voting for its Beautification Recognition Program, inviting residents to select outstanding residential and commercial properties that enhance the city’s appearance. The program is in a revised format this year, with committee members nominating 10 properties across three categories.

Community members can vote for their preferred property in each category until 11:45 p.m. on Friday, October 17 at surveymonkey.com/r/25recognitionprogram. Winners will be announced at an upcoming City Commission meeting, as well as on the City’s website, social media channels, and in the Mandan Messenger newsletter.

Previously, the Community Beautification Committee encouraged public nominations throughout the year but received few submissions from residents. As a result, nearly all nominations came from committee members. This summer, the committee adjusted its approach by establishing a nomination period followed by public voting. For this year’s trial run, only committee-nominated properties are up for selection; however, organizers hope that next year more community members will participate in nominating properties ahead of a summer voting period.

“This program not only recognizes property owners who go the extra mile to beautify Mandan—it also encourages community pride and involvement. Your vote helps spotlight the spaces that inspire and uplift our city,” according to information released by the City of Mandan.
