The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is seeking public feedback on its draft Public and Non-Metropolitan Local Official Participation Plan. The plan outlines how the public and local officials outside metropolitan areas can be involved in statewide transportation planning and programming.

According to NDDOT, this document serves as a guide for including non-metropolitan local officials and interested parties in the public involvement process related to transportation planning.

Community members are encouraged to review the draft plan online at the NDDOT website (www.dot.nd.gov). Instructions are provided for navigating to the relevant section: select “Construction & Planning,” then “Transportation Plans & Programs,” followed by the “DRAFT 2025 Public Non Metropolitan Local Government Official Participation Plan” link.

Written comments must be submitted by October 12, 2025. Feedback can be sent to Davin Cermak at NDDOT’s Planning and Asset Management Division, either by mail or email (dotplanning@nd.gov), with “Public Non-Metro Participation Plan” noted in correspondence.

NDDOT stated, "The NDDOT will consider every request for reasonable accommodation to provide an accessible meeting facility or other accommodation for people with disabilities. Language interpretation and translation services will be available upon request for this meeting."
