Rain restrictions on all county and township gravel and chip seal roads in Williams County were lifted as of 3:00 p.m. CST on Friday, August 8, 2025. Roads in all zones will now return to “By Legal Weight” status unless otherwise posted.

Earlier the same day, at 8:30 a.m., officials had restricted all zones in Williams County and all township gravel and chip seal roads to a maximum gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 20,000 pounds. At that time, any permits approved prior to the restriction were voided, and authorities stated that roads would be reevaluated throughout the day.

The morning’s action expanded on a previous notice issued at 9:20 p.m. CT on Thursday, August 7, which applied weight restrictions to Zones 1, 2, and 3.
