The St. Cloud Rox secured an 11-6 victory over the Larks on Tuesday evening, completing a sweep in their series.
The Rox started strong, with Augusto Mungarrieta driving in a run with a base hit. Jackson Cooke followed with a two-out double to left center field that brought in two more runs. In the third inning, Ricardo Aponte’s ground ball error at third base allowed another run for the Rox, extending their lead to 4-0. The team continued their momentum in the fifth inning, pushing the score to 7-0 after a lengthy rally.
Hunter Day was the starting pitcher for the Rox and delivered six innings while allowing only two runs on four hits. “I felt really good,” said Day. “It definitely helps when the offense puts up a three spot in the first inning, it makes my job a lot easier, and I trusted my defense and filled up the zone.”
The win highlights both effective pitching and timely offense for St. Cloud as they maintain momentum late in the season.
