The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has scheduled a public hearing for August 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. to discuss proposed changes to the Bismarck-Mandan 2025-2028 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The meeting will take place in the David Blackstead Meeting Room at the City/County Building, located at 221 N 5th St in Bismarck.
According to the MPO, "The purpose of the hearing is to provide an opportunity for public involvement in the review of proposed amendments to the TIP. The TIP includes federally funded metropolitan area transportation projects over a four-year time frame. This month, a cost increase to a Memorial Highway project and a new FY 25 project will be considered. The proposed amendments will be adopted by the MPO Policy Board, contingent upon no substantive change required due to public comments."
The TIP serves as a plan for federally funded transportation projects within the metropolitan area over four years. At this hearing, attendees can comment on proposals including an increased budget for work on Memorial Highway and consideration of an additional project set for fiscal year 2025. Final adoption of these amendments by the MPO Policy Board depends on feedback received during this public process.
