Knife River Corporation has provided an update on the ongoing reconstruction of East Century Avenue. The company reports that gravel travel is now only necessary when entering or exiting at Stonewall Drive. In the coming days, traffic currently using Stonewall Drive will be shifted to Roosevelt Drive to allow for paving work and a smoother connection at the intersection.

Paving has been completed on the section of East Century Avenue starting just east of Stonewall Drive and extending beyond Roosevelt Drive. Concrete crews have moved on to work on the northwest tie-in to existing Century Avenue, as well as sidewalks and intersections at Greensboro Drive, Stonewall Drive, and Roosevelt Drive. A large paving operation was planned for Saturday, August 2, 2025.

According to Knife River Corporation, "Based on current progress, we remain on track to having the section of roadway from the western project limit to Roosevelt Drive fully open shortly after school begins for the year."

The area west of Roosevelt Drive remains a priority for construction efforts. Work continues in areas east of Roosevelt Drive, including underground infrastructure projects. Most activity in this eastern section will begin once milestones are met in the current focus zone.

Andrew Osborn encouraged residents with questions or concerns about the project to reach out by email or phone. He added, "We know that roadwork can be an inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your patience and support as we move through this phase of improvements. These upgrades are designed to enhance safety, ease traffic flow, and better serve everyone who lives, works, and travels through our communities."
